VISION
The Department of Statistics is committed to meet the educational and professional needs of the nation and to develop intellectually vigorous community of students and faculty.
MISSION
To devise and develop statistical and probabilistic theories and techniques, and to disseminate statistical knowledge through teaching, advising, and outreach programs, in order to serve the needs of the College, local, state and national bodies in research, government, business, and industry.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of Statistics is for students to describe data and make evidence based decisions using inferential statistics that are based on well-reasoned statistical arguments.
The specific objectives are to:
- To provide the skill of how to describe data with descriptive statistics.
- How to interpret the results of statistical analyses.
- Use optimization technique to solve complicated problems.
- Decision making through the proper statistical methods.
- Proper use of different statistical methods.
